Day 01: AIRPORT/ SIGIRIYA
Arrival and Transfer to Aliya Resort Sigiriya. Check in to the Hotel in evening visit Sigiriya Lion Rock.

Sigiriya – is a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the island. It is alson known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion thet used to stand at the entrance to the palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace. Water tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of frescoes of 21 life sized damsels still shining in their orginal colours. The Water Gardens, Fountain Garden, Summerhouses, Boulder Gardens and the caves within the enclosed area should not be missed. After lunch at a restaurant nearby you will take a drive to minneriya and enjoy a time of watching the Elephant Gathering before you return to the hotel. Do a safari of the Minneriya National park by jeep. The extent of the Minneriya National park is about 8,889 hectares. There are wet-lands in this National park, which have international importance, animal and plant species, which are plenty in dry zone, are found in this park. Wild elephants,various amphibians, local and immigrant bird species are plenty in this park. About 160 species of birds, 09 amphibians, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species and more than 78 butterfly species have been found in this area. There area bamboo trees which are rare in other parks and wild elephants can be seen conveniently. The significant feature is that these elephants can be seen going closer to them.

Day 02: SIGIRIYA/POLONNARUWA
After Breakfast proceed to the Polonnaruwa city tour

Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city of ancient Sri Lanka, established the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which a World heritage site is. The ruin of the royal palace, the Galvinaraya where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in “Upright”, senentary and recumbent postures carved out of rock could be seen here. The other important places to visit are the Audience hall, the Lotus bath, the statue of King Parakramabahu and the Parakrama Samudraya built by King Parakramabhahu the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva temple, The Lankathilaka, The Watadage, The Galpotha, The Kiri Vehera and the remains of the old temple of the Tooth relic. On your way back to hotel you could also witness a wood carving shop where you will be shown all types of timber and hard wood products available in Sri Lanka and the creative furniture made by our master craftsman.

In the evening proceed to Minneriya Jeep Safari.

Day 03: SIGIRIYA TO DAMBULLA - KANDY
After Breakfast proceed to the Kandy

Major attractions of the city include the largest and best preserved cave temple complex of Sri Lanka, and the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, famous forbeing built in just 167 days. The city also boasts to have the largest rose quartz mountain range in South Asia, and the Iron wood forest, or Namal Uyana. Ibbankatuwa prehistoric burial site near Dhambulla cave temple complexes is the latest archaeological site of significant historical importance found in Dambulla, which is located within 3 kilometers of the cave temples providing evidence on presence of indigenous civilisations long before the arrival of Indian influence on the Island nation.

Thereafter visit spice & Herbal Garden in Matale. In the evening see the Kandy Cultural show.

Day 04: KANDY CITY TOUR
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to the Royal Botanical garden in Peradeniya for a day to enjoy the Lush Green grounds of this beautiful location.

Royal Botanical Gardens – Peradeniya – 147 acres in extent, started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the kings of Gampola and Kandy. There are more than 5,000 species of trees, plants and creepers. Some rare and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world are found in the gardens. Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists. There are 5 palm avenues beautifying the gardens, the earliest and tallest plan avenue (Royal Palm Avenue) was planted in 1905 and the double coconuts from the Seashells Island, with the largest seed of all plants in the world is one such avenue.

After lunch in the Garden Café inside the Garden, you will return to the cityduring which you can enjoy a few hours of shopping for Gems, Curios and Batiks.Back at the city, you will get the opportunity to visit the Kandy Temple of the tooth Relic and do a City Tour of Kandy enjoying the scenic beauty of the city from the upper lake round.

Kandy – the hill capital is another “World Heritage Site” it was the last stronghold of the Sinhalese kings during the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule and finally ceded to the British in 1815 after and agreement. To the Buddhists of Sri Lanka and the world, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the “Dalada Maligawa” – temple of the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. Today it is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts, Dancing, Music and Culture. Visitors can see these Dance and Music at the daily cultural performances held at several places in the city.

Day 05: KANDY TO NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Nuwara Eliya

You will be driven up along the scenic route amidst the tea estates to a cooler part of the island called “Nuwara Eliya” which is also known as “Little England” You will have lunch at a restaurant on your way to the cool climes. Visit a tea factory, where the best Tea in the world is produced. Here you could observe all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory.

Day 06: NUWARA ELIYA TO YALA
After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Yala.

Yala National Park is situated in the south-east region of Sri Lanka and is the 2nd largest National Park in the island, situated some 300 km away from Colombo. It was at first established in the early 1890s as a game sanctuary. The park is located in the dry-zone region where the drought season is very long. The day time average temperature is over 30 degrees which is not uncommon in the region. The parkland makes up most of the reserve but also includes lakes, beaches, jungle,rivers and scrubland. This variety in habitats provides an excellent range in wildlife. The largest concentration of Leopards can be seen in this region though the chances of seeing this animal are very low, and the creature is said to be one of the most endangered species. About 32 species of mammals, 125 species of birds and many reptiles and lagoon fauna species have been recorded in the park. The Yala National Park is famous among visitors as the best place to view large mammals within one territory.

Day 07: YALA TO GALLE

The classic architecture fuses with the tropical setting that's the envy of many man-made resorts and architects. Galle is said to be a heavenly piece of art, tropical heaven and rich in history.

Day 08: BENTOTA
After breakfast at the hotel transfer to Madu river safari and on the way see the Turtle Hatchery back to hotel.
